WTH Is Pilates?
Just to avoid confusion let’s start with the basics.
What the heck is Pilates?
Pilates is a physical fitness developed by Joseph Pilates that connects the mind and body. This practice is a series of controlled movements that are meant to transform your entire body.
There are many variations of Pilates since its creation, but the most known forms are Mat, and Reformer.
What’s the Difference?
The most modern form of Pilates is Mat similar to yoga. This practice focuses on the principles of Pilates: Concentration, precision and breathing etc., just to name a few.
So where does that contraption I googled come in come in?…
Well, that contraption is what we call the reformer. The original Joseph Pilates vision. A machine meant tone your body, improve your flexibility while centering your mind.
